Awards Criteria

 


Newsletters

  • Rotary Information. Something about Rotary in general to help inform and educate the membership about Rotary and its programs

  • Promote Club Projects. Discuss what the club is planning to do or has done,

  • Easy To Read. Nice layout, boxes around some articles, sectioning, etc.

  • Access to Bulletins. Every member should get a copy. Is it mailed to all? Mailed to those who are not in attendance at a meeting?

  • Color, Graphics. Photos, color, and graphics make the bulletin more interesting

  • Club Committees. Names of Rotarians chairing or serving on committees with contact information.

  • Member Information. While large clubs cannot do this, it is helpful for clubs to list their members with addresses, phone numbers, & e-mail addresses.

  • Program Information. This week’s speaker, next week’s (& other upcoming) speakers; synopsis of last program

  • Frequent Publication. Weekly bulletins are best for keeping members informed.

  • Club Calendar. Listing of club, district, and RI events.

  • Make-Up Locations. List of places near to the club where meetings can be made up, with meeting days, times and places.


Orphie Bridges Honor Our Legacy Award

    • Long-Time Rotarian. At least 10 years; dedicated to Rotary service
    • District Service. Has served at the District level, (DG or other role)

  • Commitment to The Rotary Foundation. Has contributed financially and/or personally to the Foundation and its programs.

  • Service Above Self. Exemplifies this concept.

  • Avenues of Service. Has accomplishments in all four Avenues of Service.


Club President of the Year

  • Completed all responsibilities in timely manner. (i.e., attended PETS and DA, prepared SCPO & turned in on time; completed club contact list)

  • Served club with enthusiasm

  • Outstanding leadership in managing club affairs

  • Committed to ideals of Rotary

  • Upholds Rotary rules and standards

  • Has undertaken and/or completed innovative or outstanding club project

  • Club has earned Presidential Citation

  • Set ambitious goals and has shown significant progress in achieving them


Club Secretary of the Year

  • Submitted reports promptly (Attendance reports in on time, without prodding by ADG or DG, membership forms, change of data forms, etc. sent to DG & RI; semi-annual report on time)

  • Organized and accurate club records

  • Encourage good attendance. Sent out reminder letters, post cards, etc. to members who missed meetings.

  • Correspondence. Corresponded appropriately with club members & their families (thank-you notes, get well cards, etc.)

  • Shows enthusiasm for Rotary & exemplifies Rotary ideals.


Best Fellowship


  • Fosters camaraderie among Rotarians

  • Imparts Rotary Information

  • Represents Rotary Ideals

  • Is fun as well as informative

  • Is thought-provoking


Best Club Spirit

  • Club shows enthusiasm for Rotary

  • Club supports club, district, & RI projects

  • Club meetings are well-attended

  • Club meetings are fun


Rotary Club of the Year

  • Has excellent attendance

  • Has earned Presidential Citation

  • Has undertaken and/or completed at least one outstanding club project

  • Is committed to Rotary ideals

  • Adheres to RI rules and procedu res

  • Has excellent representation at district events

  • Has high level of participation in club activities

  • Involves families of Rotarians (picnics, projects, social events, etc.)

  • Is visible in community for its service

  • Has members who care for each other

  • Has high level of participation in The Rotary Foundation (PHF, PHFSM, GSE, Centurion, etc.)

  • Is involved with youth (RYLA, YE, local projects, Interact, etc.)

  • Has excellent programs for membership development and retention


International Service (Club or Individual)

  • Club or individual has shown commitment to international service (WCS, Matching Grants, GSE, etc.

  • Club or individual has undertaken and/or completed an international service project

  • Club or individual has high level of participation in The Rotary Foundation (PHF, PHFSM, Centurion, benefactors, major donor, Rotary Volunteers, NID, etc.)
